we go with joy to meet the Lord

Invoking
"Send your Holy Spirit, the Comforter in our souls and make us understand the Scriptures he inspired; and allow me to interpret in a worthy manner, so that the faithful gathered here derive profit." "God our Savior ... I pray for this people on it sends the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus comes to visit, talk to the minds of all and has hearts to faith and lead you to our souls, God of Mercy. " (Cf. Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation, Verbum Domini, 16).

Read
37Come were the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man. 38Infatti, as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and took her husband until the day that Noah entered the ark, the 39th did not notice anything until the flood came and swept all: so shall also the coming of Son of Man. 40Allora two men in the field: one will be taken away and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill: one will be taken away and the other left.
42Vegliate therefore, do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43Cercate to understand this: if the householder had known at what hour of the night the thief, have watched and would not have let his house be broken. 44THUS you also get ready for, hour you do not, is the Son of Man.

A moment of silent reflection so that the Word can enter into us and enlighten our lives.

useful steps to meditation
Dan 7.13, 6.5 to 8.14 in January, Mt 24, 45-51, 25.1 to 46 13.33 to 37 Mk, Lk 12, 38-46; 21, 36, Ps 127 [126] 1 Cor 1.18 to 2.5, 5.4 to 5 1 Thess

Understanding
start the cycle time of Advent to meditate on the Gospel of Matthew. In the liturgy of the first Sunday of Advent, the Church presents us with one of the five discourses of Jesus than this Sunday is the fifth one is on the way to the end of the world.
To understand, the Gospel presents us with the issue of supervision in order to welcome the coming of Jesus, as there is intended to indicate the verb "watch" el'avverbio concluding "therefore" (so).
The passage starts with v. 37. Here we see an introduction from starting 34 which reads: "34In Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away until all these things happen. 35Il Heaven and earth will pass away but my words shall not pass. 36Quanto that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father. "
These verses begin with solemn and authoritative. Just read the prophets prophesied that every time you refer to God with Jesus is a new character: it becomes a solemn declaration, an affirmation of strong, reliable and authoritative about what is going to say or who has just asserted.
So would it be to abandon our routine, starting from zero, because in the words of this Gospel passage, there is the risk run by all the disciples of Jesus in every age.

Meditation
vv. 37-39: How were the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man. For as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and took her husband until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and swept all: so shall also the coming of Son of Man. In these verses, Jesus' call for clarifying and supervision refers to the Bible. First Genesis regarding the flood (Genesis 6.5 to 8.14). While "the coming of the Son of Man" refers to a vision of the prophet Daniel: "Looking even in the night visions, that's coming with the clouds of heaven one like a son of man came to the Ancient One and was presented to him " (Dan 7:13).
Why this comparison? At the time of Noah's life ran no dedicated "on things above", there was this inner awareness to be able to receive the grace of God. The people were too self-confident!
Even today, somehow, the same thing we live in a certain security of ourselves, a autosopravvivenza. Jesus invites us to be careful, history repeats itself and think human stupidity is revealed (cf. 1 Cor 1.18 to 2.5). The Psalmist says "Unless the Lord builds the home it labor in vain manufacturers. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman watches in vain " (Ps 127 [126], 1).
In the words of the person, we have a warning to indicate that God is not possible without the safety and welfare. Yes, the progress goes on but there is a lively approach to God "Without the Lord we can do nothing" (Jn 15:5). We are God's building, as Paul says (1 Cor 3.9) not building a simple human being.
vv. 40-41: Then two men in the field: one will be taken away and the other left. Two women grinding at the mill: one will be taken away and the other left. Almost mo 'of the parable, here too the same thing happens. What sets us apart in life? These two farmers did not distinguish anything, and the same thing for the two women in their activities. You work hard, with difficulty, to have wealth, but God would not quell'affannarsi all, if you had joined him. Yet Jesus had previously said "Take heed to yourselves, that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of life, and that day there leads him suddenly" (Luke 21.34). Today, however, says that some will be taken, that will receive the salvation that has always welcomed into their lives, while those who have led a life without meaning, do not get it.
In these figures we can see the two aspects of the lives we lead: Rely on yourself, and the other about God and his coming to work alone, work together with God; asleep inside, vigilant.
different ways of living life. The disciple, however, has to throw in the Lord his anguish: "Lord I entrust this situation that seems unsolvable, you can resolve it against all human calculation ... You are my shepherd!
v. 42: Watch therefore, for ye know on what day your Lord is coming. This verse, if looking through the gospels meet several times in the mouth of Jesus has always been unsafe warned Even the death of Jesus can be for us a ground for refusal, and then live as if there were. Yet we know that we must die. It is our blindness is cautioned that at this time. Be strong in our hearts. That's why the theme of consciousness. The evangelist
to understand it speaks to the cap. 25. To provide means, do not sit barricaded, sure, but take each day to its responsibilities, addressing the events of life. You get a continually before the Lord. By being vigilant there is a force to break the indifference, inertia, distraction. St. Paul writing to the Christians of Rome says: "it is time to wake from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed "(Romans 13:11). The early bird lives in the torpor of the senses, is back, "has eyes but can not see, have ears but hear not" (Jer 5:21), but his lips did not speak, his heart beats but loves sleeping! Unlike the opposite is the person who is awake. He is able to stand in the life of every day, because it can be in the presence of God and read the reality of life from the heart of God, a heart capable of love beyond all measure up to the gift of life. Romano Guardini
invites us to watch live as a Christian virtue. Thus, a further meaning to the term monitoring is to capture, understand this in order to discover the passage of God not to admire but as a time of grace to live and give hope to our time.
v. 43: Understand this: if the householder had known at what hour of the night the thief, have watched and would not have let his house be broken. The insistence of Jesus: "Seek to understand," reminds us of what Jesus cares about our fate. These first words that reflect what the see 34: "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away until all these things happen."
The final part of this verse forces us to put ourselves in soul searching and do not wait for life events that destroy us (as described here with the thief), but knowing how to read in the light of the gospel. We can read the house described here as the cell of our hearts, if rediscovered and guide our choices of faith, to rediscover the simplicity of life: a life the purity of heart that is fundamentally linked to the spiritual life for the bliss that is associated "they shall see God" (Mt 5:8).
"If we therefore wish to meet God, we must look in the cell of our hearts. If we really understand that everything is intimately united to God, we will achieve peace and beauty!" (Tagore) and the house of our heart will be intact.
v. 44: Therefore you also be ready, because hour you do not, is the Son of Man. to strengthen what has been said before, Jesus says that the Son of Man will come when not expected. God comes when we least expect. The time mentioned by Matthew recalls the day and time of which Paul speaks in Rom 13.11-14. Not just a chronological but a kairos. In the Bible time is seen as a gift from God and is always placed in relation to man and history.
At this time Jesus, turning to us continues to ask us to be vigilant leading a peaceful life to perfection. St. Paul exhorts "the God of peace sanctify you perfect, and all your spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ " (1 Thess 5:23). This attitude is a sign of maturity, in which supervisors and peace are mixed. So let us allow the Word of God invades our consciousness and fill us with the power of love can give and remain so "cute" to meet the Lord who comes quickly!

The Gospel in the thinking of the Church Fathers
This happy time which we call the "advent of the Lord" presents for our meditation a double cause for joy, because two is the gift that brings us.
Advent reminds us of a twofold coming of the Lord: for that sweet long awaited and eagerly desired by all the fathers, in which "the fairest of the sons of men" (Ps 44, 3), "The desire of all nations" (Ag 2, 8 Volg.), the Son of God, made manifest in this world, its visible presence in the flesh, when he came to earth to save sinners, then we still have to wait for the arrival with sure hope, when our Lord himself, first appeared under the veil of our humanity, will look resplendent in her glory as she sings the psalm: "It is our God" (Ps 49, 3).
His first coming was known by just a few, he will manifest in the second with full evidence to the righteous and the wicked, as insinuated clearly the prophet: "Every man shall see the salvation of God" (cf. Is 52, 10). The day soon we will celebrate in memory of his birth presents him born, and in particular reminds us of the day and the hour of his coming into the world, but this time we are celebrating above reminds us of the Desired, the desire of Fathers who lived before his birth.
Quite rightly, the Church has decreed that in this time we read the words and remember the wishes of those who preceded the first coming of the Lord.
And we do not celebrate this waiting only for a day, but for a rather long time, because it is a fact of experience that the things you want very much, if should be expected for some time, there are sweeter when we love what you do this. It's up to us, therefore, dear brothers, to follow the examples of the holy fathers, to cultivate in ourselves to their desires, and so light in our souls the love of Christ and the wait. The celebration of this time was established precisely to make us reflect on the fervent expectation of our fathers for the first coming of the Lord, and because we learn from their example to be desired greatly his second coming.
us recall how the Lord gave us the goods with his first coming, and as there will a lot bigger with the second. This consideration leads us to love the very mystery of his birth and longs to its second coming. And if we do not have this good conscience who dare to wish for the hour when Christ will return, we should at least fear it, and correct us fear that our vices. Why, if it happens that now we can not fear, at least we do not have to fear when he comes, but can we feel safe. (Aelred, abbot, " Speeches )

We proclaim that Christ is coming. In fact, not only for his coming, but ven'è a second, which will be much more glorious than the last. The first, in fact, had the seal of the suffering, the other will lead a wreath of divine kingship. It can be said that almost always in our Lord Jesus Christ, every event is twofold. Generation is twofold, one to God the Father, the first time, and the other, the human birth, a virgin in the fullness of time.
There are also two runs in its history. The first time he came so dark and silent, like the rain on the fleece. A second time in the future will shine and clarity before the eyes of all. In his first coming he was wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed in a stall in the second dress is light as with a garment. In the first refuse to accept the cross without shame, in 'the advance of troops escorted by the angels and will be filled with glory.
So do not limit ourselves to ponder only the first coming, but we live in expectation of the second. And since we have in the first acclaimed: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" (Matt. 21: 9), the same praise proclaim in the second. So going to meet the Lord together with the angels and I love singing, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" (Matt. 21: 9).
The Savior will not be judged again, but to be judge of those who condemned him. He was silent when it was under the sentence, he will remember their actions to those evil, which made him suffer the torment of the cross, and say to each of them: "Have you done this and should I be silent?" (Ps 49.21). Then in a drawing of merciful love was to educate men with gentle firmness, but in the end all, like it or not, must submit by force to his royal domain. The prophet Malachi foretells the two comings of the Lord: "And now come to his temple the Lord whom you seek" (Ml 3, l). This is the first coming. And then on the second he says: "Behold, the angel of the covenant, whom you sigh, here comes ... But who may abide the day of his coming? Who shall stand when he appears? He is like a refiner's fire and like the 'soap suds. He will sit as a refiner and purifier "(Mal 3: 1-3). Paul also speaks of these two comings writing to Titus in these terms: "the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live sober, upright and godly lives in this world, awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ "(Titus 2: 11-13). See how he spoke of it first coming thanking God? The second one is to understand that those who wait. So this is the faith that we proclaim that you believe in Christ who ascended into heaven and is seated at the Father's right hand. He will come in glory to judge the living and the dead. And his kingdom will never end. It will therefore be our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, will come in glory at the end of the created world, the last day. There will then be the end of this world, and the birth of a new world. (Cyril of Jerusalem, Bishop, Catechesis . 15.1).

Without the attention and supervision of the intellect, it is impossible to save ourselves and we are freed from the devil, walks around like a roaring lion seeking to devour someone and, as Damascene says. For this reason, the Lord often said to his disciples: Watch and pray, you do not know, and follow-up. Through them all so stated, with regard to the memory of death, be prepared to give an acceptable justification, that which comes from the work and attention. Because the demons, says Saint Hilarion, are immaterial, sleepless and we are dedicated to war and make us lose our souls with the word, the work and thought, while we are not like them, now we worry about the softness and the glory that goes, now the things of this life, and many others forever. And do not even want to have some time to scrutinize our lives, so that from this the intellect can get in the habit of looking after, and often the same without respite. Solomon says: You walk through lots of traps. On them Chrysostom wrote, explaining what they are exceedingly rich with great precision and wisdom the Lord, wanting to avoid any concern, he ordered us to despise the same food and clothing that we have only one concern, ie how to save us - as a gazelle a bird from the snare and the trap - and why we come to have the keen eye of the gazelle and soar like a bird because of the absence of concerns. And it's really a wonderful thing that Solomon, as king, said these things. Even his father had spoken and acted in the same way, but both, after living with so much attention and many struggles, in all wisdom and virtue, after all the great gifts and the manifestation of God, were unfortunately defeated by sin, so that one had to cry at the same time adultery and murder, and the other fell into serious crimes. This is not a fact filled with fear and trembling that those who have intellect? As they say on the ascetic Climaco and Philemon. How then do not tremble and do not flee, because of our weakness, agitation this life, we who are nothing, and instead remain as insensitive brutes? And if at least, as the brutes, had kept the nature and miserable I am! ... (Peter Damascene on: As it is impossible to escape without rigorous attention and care intellect).

Some questions for personal reflection and comparison
resume reading of the Gospel and let's stop looking at our reality. Is not the situation widely found in our day? It's not too many of us leave entirely absorbed by the concerns and daily tasks, symbolized by the "eat and drink," the ephemeral things, you have no time for more than your man / woman and, what is worse, having fallen asleep so as not to perceive the value, not to sense the need? As a bridge of hope in our lives? Or we like to wrap and keep our minds because we do not believe? The advent
is a favorable moment to look around, to look inside to review our choices, our lifestyles in the light of the Word of God Which is the way we expect the coming of Jesus?

Praying
the face of God who comes to us we can not but rejoice. For this reason along with the Psalmist we respond with joyful hearts to the Lord (Psalm 121):

I was glad when they said
"go to the house of the Lord." Already

our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!

That's where the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord
,
according to the law of Israel,
to praise the name of the Lord.
There were set the thrones of Judgement
the thrones of the house of David.

Have peace of Jerusalem: living
sure those who love you;
be peace within your walls,
security within your citadels.

For my brethren and friends
I say, "Peace be upon you."
For the house of the Lord our God, ask for your
well.

contemplative act
internalize the deeper meaning of Advent and we welcome every day in the life of the warning that comes to us from the Apostles Doctrine: Keep watch over your life: that your lights do not go out and do not melt from your waist belts. Get ready, because you do not know the hour when our Lord will come. Gather yourselves together frequently, seeking together the most important thing for your souls, what profit you the time lived in faith, if, at the last minute, you will not be found faithful? (From the Didache).

Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom

Invoking
O God the Father, who have called us to reign with you in justice and love, deliver us from the power of darkness is' we walk in the footsteps of your Son, and as we give him our life of love for others, sure to share his glory in heaven. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Understanding
XXXIV This Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Feast of Christ the King, the liturgy makes us reflect on the passion of the Lord.
Luke says in his account of the last moments of earthly life of Jesus using several times the words save and salvation in this from happening, he wants to tell us that Christ is King of our lives and our history.
His kingship is manifested in a manner contrary to human kingship: the kingship of Jesus is service for the salvation of the people, even to giving himself more time in the bloody end of his life.
In his "new manger" Jesus is also crucified two robbers, one of which is associated with those who wanted it, and the other his faith in Christ. This faith is rewarded by the promise of Jesus is allowed to participate in the divine life.

Meditation
v. 35: the people were to see, but the rulers mocked Jesus, saying, "He saved others! Save himself, if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One. "
We are at Calvary, a place of death and tears. This place right now has been transformed into a "stage". In fact, we see who is and who to laugh at.
In the eyes of a thousand, because, in mockery of the leaders in Somehow those who say Jesus the Christ of God, the Chosen One. Without meaning to describe the kingship of Jesus Christ
The temptation for Jesus is always strong and renewed again in this bloody moment. The people, the soldiers, one of the criminals who call on Jesus to save himself saw his divine origin.
Behind these words is a purely human reasoning, a refuge to save themselves. But Jesus came not to save himself (cf. Mt 5:17).
This temptation is the temptation for all of us, because we try to escape, to wash our hands: we want to survive! But the man of the Cross is telling us the opposite. His salvation is to give their lives. Jesus at this time does nothing but give his life.
Save yourself and the lives of others, is not a Christian!
vv. 36-37: The soldiers also mocked him, drew near to offer him and said, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself." seems that all mock Jesus, even the soldiers of the religious right are dry. However, even they repeat themselves in some way the human anxiety.
soldiers present to Jesus vinegar thirsty, as if to recall the words of the Psalmist: "In my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink" (Ps 69.22). This indicates which take the Scriptures, that what is to happen is an event of salvation, and not any one story to tell.
addition to Jesus suffers a fault, a title that's bothers, "King of the Jews." Title that has been cause for debate at his trial. But Jesus is King but not like a human, his kingship will be "a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles" (1 Cor 1:23). His kingship is to do the will of the Father and that is giving his life to save what was lost (Luke 19:10).
v. 38: Above him there was an inscription: "He is the king of the Jews." Her crime Jesus Bring It On, neck, like any criminal. A tablet continues to mock Jesus, however, bears a tablet getting a message to read, this message is the kingship of Christ is still seeking to not only read but to pose to us that we read, our eyes, our hearts on the heart of the Gospel: love.
Moreover, this tablet also becomes a delivery that Jesus says, 'Take my yoke upon you ... For my yoke is easy and my burden is light "(Mt 11.29-30).
Jesus is King offering his own life, his own yoke of scepters and does not need to reign, because his scepter is love for every person.
vv. 39-41: One of the criminals hanging there abused him: "Are not you the Christ? Save yourself and us. " But the other rebuked him, saying: "Do you not fear God, you who are condemned to the same punishment? addition to the Crucified are the two criminals who were hanged, but the conclusion is very different from the life of each of the two. Even Jesus had said: "That night, when two are in the same bed: one will be taken away and the other left" (17:34). There are two criminals crucified with him, but one only outwardly because it participates to the mockery of others and look for the escape route to save himself. His claim is a blasphemy is a continuous mocking God's saving plan then his reaction is sterile, lifeless, dead in itself.
The other villain, however, take the path of salvation because he shares the conviction of Jesus He is discerning and accepting what is happening, that welcomes and recognizes the divine mystery in the crucified Son of God
uphold the divine mystery, to be with Christ, to be next to him is nothing but the blame does not see the life he has before his eyes and continues to squander it. In other words, what the criminal made himself the voice of Christ, recognizing its responsibilities and helping each other to read the present moment as an opportunity for salvation: We, rightly, because we get what we deserve for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong. "
The conversion of this man is a sign that read the tablet around his neck and that in some way, even we ourselves have put around his neck. In a sign that we are visited by God Read Here is the meaning of his crucifixion, a crucifixion deserved for a wrong committed. But there is also the courage to confess their sins before Jesus, about which he thinks is convinced that innocent from the cross.
vv. 42-43: And he said: "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." He answered, "Truly I say to you today you'll be with me in Paradise. " In the Bible the remembrance of God and of man are interwoven and form a key component of the life of God's people
In the Old Testament, if someone prays in his difficulties, he raises his voice to God to remember the his saving work, his covenant (cf. Gen 9:15; Es 2:24; Ps 104.8, 110, 5). The thief does the same thing with Jesus at the foot of the throne of glory calls for a memorial in the kingdom of Christ. It is a beautiful prayer that is always renewed on the lips of those who have faith: "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" (Acts 7.59). And every disciple who "call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21).
The prayer of the thief is fulfilled by Jesus, not because he was good (Luke does not say) but because he was able to accept the salvation that at that moment was passing from the cross. In fact, "The foundation of God's mercy is revealed in the cross of Christ, who takes the place of many and die for them" (Alois Stöger).
Christ alone does not enter into his kingdom, brings the first of the saved. Humanity, the same court, same fate, same victory.
The repentant malefactor would be "with him," that is, with Jesus, which is heaven coveted by Paul: "I long to dissolve and be with Christ" (Phil. 1:23; cf. 1Tes 4.17).

The Gospel in the mind of the Church Fathers
Every action of Christ is the glory of the Church, but the cross is the glory above all glory. He knew well that Paul said, I will glory of nothing except the cross of Christ (Gal 6.14). A blind person was able to regain his sight at the pool of Siloam, is certainly a wonderful fact. But how important is this one episode when you consider the blind around the world? Momentous event, beyond the power of nature, was the resurrection of Lazarus, dead for four days. But this favor granted to him alone, could perhaps benefit all those who died for your sins? What was remarkable feed five thousand men with five loaves. But what use could have for all the ignorant hungry for truth? The glory of the cross instead lit up all those who were blind ignorance, all of whom were freed slaves of sin, redeemed all mankind. Gloriamoci the cross of the Savior. The language of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who we are saved is the power of God (1 Cor 1:18) (Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechesis 13.1-2).

Want to see another of his marvelous work? Today we opened paradise, which was closed for more than five years. In a day and at an hour like this, you brought a thief, and so did two things together, opened heaven ev'introdusse a thief. On this day has given us our true home, causing her to house the whole human race, as he says: "Today thou shalt be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). What do you say? You are crucified, nailed your hands and promise paradise? Sure, he says, because you can understand who they are, even on the cross. Why you do not stop and look at the cross and you could see who was crucified, they did wonders on the cross. While not raising a dead, or when he commands the winds and the sea, or when driving out demons, but while on the cross, nailed, ed'insulti spat upon, can change the mind of a thief, because you can discover its power. He has broken the rocks and drew the soul of a thief, the harder the stone and broke it honored, he says, "Today thou shalt be with me in paradise." Yes, here were the Cherubim in custody of heaven, but here is the Lord of the Cherubim. Yes, there was a flaming sword, but he is the master of life and death. Yes, no king ever lead with him in town a thief or a servant. The Christ did, returning to his homeland, introduces you a thief, but no offense to paradise without spoiling with feet of a thief, adding even the honor is honor, in fact, have such a master of paradise that can also do a thief worthy of the joy of heaven. In fact, when he introduced tax collectors and prostitutes in the kingdom of heaven, this was not a disgrace, but great honor, because it shows that the owner of Paradise was so great a Lord, who could make the tax collectors and harlots as decent people, to deserve the 'honor of paradise. Indeed, as we admire most doctors, when we see him heal the most serious and incurable diseases, so it is right to see Jesus Christ when healing the wounds of heaven and is worthy collectors and meritrici. What on earth did this thief, you say, after the cross to deserve heaven? I'll tell you. While on the ground Peter denied him, he proclaimed the Lord above. I do not say, for charity, to accuse Peter, but I want to point out the generosity of the thief. The disciple could not support the threat of a servant, the thief of all the people around him and shouting and swearing, it does not took into account, did not stop the vile appearance of a crucifix, he overcame it all with the eyes of faith, recognized the King of heaven and the soul stretched before him said, "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom" (Luke 23.42). Please do not underestimate this thief and have no shame to take to master the one whom the Lord was not ashamed to introduce, first of all, in paradise, we have no shame to take him to master that before all creation was considered worthy of the conversation is in heaven, but think carefully about everything, because we can penetrate the power of the cross. Christ said to him, like Peter, "Come, I will make you fishers of men" (Matt. 4:19), did not say, as the Twelve, "shall sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel" ( Mt 19:28). In fact did not even worthy of a word, showed him a miracle, he saw a dead man raised, not expelled demons, not tamed the sea, yet he proclaimed before all the Lord and, while the other thief insulted him .. . Have you seen the confidence of the thief? His confidence on the cross? His philosophy in the torture and piety in torment? Who would not be surprised that, pierced by nails, was not out of mind? Instead not only kept his wits, but leave all his things, think of others and who became a teacher, he rebuked his companion: "Do you fear God?" (Luke 23.40). Do not think, he says, this court ground, there is another invisible judge and a court incorruptible. T'affannare not to have been convicted here, there is not the same thing. In this court the righteous and the wicked are condemned sometimes escape punishment, the guilty are acquitted and innocent are executed. The judges, like it or not, often fail, because of ignorance or deception or corruption may betray the truth. There is something else. God is a just judge and his trial will come out as light, not darkness and ignorance without ... See that big thing is this proclamation of the thief? He proclaimed Christ the Lord and heaven opened, and gained so much confidence, that a podium thief dared to ask a kingdom. See which goods of the cross is the source? Ask a kingdom? But what do you see that it makes you think? In front you have a cross and nails, but the cross, he says, is a symbol of the kingdom. I call upon the King, because I see the crucifix, it is the king die for his subjects. The same said: "The good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep" (Jn 10:11). Thus, even a good king gave his life for his subjects. Since then gave his life, I call him the King "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom." (John Chrysostom, Hom . Cruce et de latronico , s. 2).

Some questions for personal reflection and comparison
what my attitude toward suffering? I'm seeing?
thrown away what has resulted from the Word of God for me and for others?
What kind of prayer do? Selfish or according to God's heart?
I accept the salvation that goes from my house, my life or reject ridiculed?
I also like Paul, like the thief "Bram dissolve and be with Christ"?

Praying
In the prison of Scheveningen, between 12 and 13 February 1942, p. Titus Brandsma, he composed a short poem inspired by the image of Christ on the cross. All poetic song expresses the acceptance of suffering that pleased God to unite

In front of 'image of Jesus
O Jesus,
when I look at you I feel revived.
I love you. Even
you love me,
like your best friend.
Your friendship brings me pain.
But all suffering is good for me. So
resembles you: I will come where you live.
In pain I feel happy.
not call him more pain but
happy occasion for you to be more united.
I embrace the silence, the damp, cold.
Leave me here.
Nobody visits me.
not bothering me the only star.
You, in fact, Jesus, you're with me: I never
you were so close.
Stay with me,
here beside me, sweet Jesus

Your presence is my peace.

Excel: cell names to make graphs

In Excel, you can assign a name to a group of non-contiguous cells and use this name as a collective noun to indicate the source of the data graph.
For example, if the whole cell "Sheet2" was named "list" must be indicated as a series of data the following notation:
= Sheet2! List
The same method can be used to set the axis labels from a collection of cells, including non-contiguous, identified with a name.

[In Excel, the naming of the cells is obtained Quick as follows:
select the cells, if they are not contiguous to use the CTRL key;
in the Name box (top left in the formula bar) to write a name and press Enter]

The Lord will judge the world with justice

Invoking
Lord, you who created heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, for thou hast said through the Holy Spirit through the mouth of our father, your servant David
Why do the nations rage, and peoples through a vain thing? The kings of the earth
And the princes gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ; .... Stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders in the name of your holy servant Jesus (Acts 4,24-25.30). "Fill us with your Spirit as the Apostles donaste after this prayer, in times of trial, so that we can preach the Word boldly and bear witness as prophets of hope. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Understanding
The piece is part literary unit of 21.5 to 36 and to the beginning of Jesus' discourse on the end of time. Luke refers to the end of time in other parts (from 12.35 to 48, from 17.20 to 18.18). Jesus is in Jerusalem, in the courts of the Temple, is approaching passion. The Synoptic Gospels (see also Mt 24, Mk 13) cause precede the story of the passion, death and resurrection, the speech called "eschatological." Events to read the light of Easter. The language is apocalyptic. The focus should not be placed on every word, but a complete reversal on the ad. Luca
community is already aware of the events concerning the destruction of Jerusalem (year 70). The evangelist universalized the message and highlights the split time of the church awaiting the coming of the Lord in glory.
The disciples are called to live in the certainty that the day the Lord will come. In the meantime should not fall into the deception of Jesus and other messengers make their deadlines other than those established by God
The Gospel of this Sunday is a help to understand the condition of the believer and to live in the world correctly. The Gospel, in fact, does not want to be a "handbook for emergencies" how much good news about life.

Meditation
vv. 5-6: While some spoke of the temple, which was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts ... is wonderful in the eyes of all look at the artistic beauty of things, the work of man. Even at the time of Jesus the same thing happened. But when the human operator is in contrast with the work of God Jesus responds with a prophetic word: There will be days when all that you admire, not one stone upon another that will not be destroyed.
words of doom those of Jesus (See 17.22, 19.43) back in the admonitions of the prophets concerning the temple (I 3.12; Jr 7:1-15; 26.1 to 19). It is also a consideration on the transience of all human accomplishment, but wonderful. Here we can consider our attitude towards the things that end with time.
These days will come ... "coming days" are the same as 5.35: "But the days when the bridegroom is taken away from them: then they will fast in those days", the implementation of the Messiah, the groom, will coincide with the destruction of the Temple (cf. 23.45). The collapse of the material will be only a final result of the exodus from the Temple of God's presence, because They have transformed "this place", which was conceived as a "house of prayer" (Luke 19.46), "tent of witness" (Acts 7.44), in a "den of thieves" (Luke 19.46 b) , a temple made 'by hand' s man "(Acts 7:48), to the glory and praise of the powerful ....
God does not want buildings that punched singular power, but functional places as his gift. The real spiritual man, realizes and uses all the human realities without making the ultimate goal.
v. 7: And they asked him, "Teacher, when therefore will these things and what will be the sign when they are about to happen?". Demand manifested an anxious attitude that we live today: the flight from the present to project at this critical moment in the future. The listeners are interested in the external shocks that characterize this event.
Jesus did not answer this specific question. The disaster for them is not definitive, but it is the time when God will intervene to start the uprising (the fulfillment of the prophecy of the seventy weeks of Dan 9.24-27) today called it "a crusade" or "holy war" the revolt that will end with the defeat of the pagans (Dan 7:27).
When the powerful are too well armed to cause holy wars, then organize moralizing crusades, campaigns for life (in theory), fundamentalist movements, all but the radical change in the scale of false values that cause global crises, civil wars and disasters family. Missing God and His Word at the top of the scale of values!
v. 8: "Take care not to be deceived. In fact, many will come in my name, saying, "I am" and "The time is near." Do not go after them! This warning of Jesus, Luke, than the other evangelists, adds the reference to time. The early Christian community is outpacing the next step in a return of the Lord and prepares to split time of the church.
Jesus advised not to be deceived or better, seduced by impostors. There are two kinds of false prophets who claim to be in the name of Jesus saying "I am" and those who say the time has come, you already know the date (10.11, 19.11)
In the community the inhabitants of Thessalonica, on the pretext of waiting for the imminent return of the Lord, they had given themselves to a spiritually empty, just waiting, ineffectual, useless considering every project and every task in this world, since everything will disappear.
S. Paul condemns their behavior and call them back to reality, this time to live with dignity and responsibility.
The believer is confident in the Word of Jesus because trust the promise, does not follow the advice of deceivers, refuses to be terrorized by evil, but also takes this opportunity to give a good testimony.
v. 9: When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first, but it will immediately end. " Even the events of war and we would say today, terrorist action, not the beginning of the end. All this is happening, but not the sign of the end ( Dn 3:28). Luke wants to avoid the illusion of imminent end of time with the resulting disappointment and abandonment of faith.
Those who predict the imminent end, may have pointed to these signs of the end in some events of their time. Rather these events must refer to a more ascetic life in wars and divisions in the field of faith. A call to spread the fragrance of Christ, his infinite love, His victory over sin and death which arise from our works, as a day of blood and water, baptism and the bread of life, springing from Christ's side.
vv. 10-11: He said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be a place of great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences, and there will be terrifying events and great signs from heaven. The " then said " is a recovery of speech after the initial warnings. We are right in the language and images apocalyptic (see Is 19.2; 2Chr 15.6). Using traditional images to describe the acceleration of change in history (Isaiah 24.19-20; Zech 14.4-5, Ezekiel 6:11-12). The catastrophic imagination is like a curtain that veils the beauty of the scenery behind it: the coming of the Lord in glory.
history, even today, strewn with corpses, is nothing but a poor cry of despair waiting for the definitive love. Jesus says otherwise: the story is the place where God makes his plan is - therefore - that blessed place to save. Perseverance, a gift from heaven, is our seal on the world, our life is the Lord's pierced side, the door wide open on the heart of God, selfless love for every man prepared. Our life lost for Christ was delivered, and in Him for the salvation of the world.
vv. 12-13: But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, and brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. You then have opportunity to give testimony. I do not know if we realize this admonition. Are two things: either you can not see the refinement of persecution that is taking place against Christians, though not often bloody (there are always limits to the news bloody), or is so warm that with our faith not provoke anyone.
Jesus' word says that the testimony comes from persecution. The essential thing is not to win, not even be right, even survive, the main thing is to bear witness to the love of God in every circumstance. Trained with the light that comes from the Lord, even persecuted, the believer will proclaim before the world a mysterious wisdom but able to deal effectively with the opposition. In addition to persecution by their opponents will also betrayal by friends and relatives, even "You will be hated by all for My name's sake" (v. 17). Yet even in this situation, the disciple must maintain confidence.
vv. 14-15: Put yourself in mind, therefore, not to prepare your defense, I will give you words and wisdom, so that all your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. What does this knowledge consist? In showing the falsity of the world and its promises to reveal the love of God present in the middle of the story as a sign of hope for humanity. It's time to put total trust in God, only God is enough. Jesus is with those who resist, it offers a language to which no enemy to resist. A resistance that is solidary community of those who have faith, that the new family of Jesus, as Christians are in danger of being betrayed by their families.
Jesus is expressed through them and they, without being caught, will defend his interest in the right way, so that opponents can not resist.
In any case, Jesus does not promise in principle that will save the disciples and the rest of the opponents they have never expected from him such a pact. However, God will continue to hold his hand on the disciples of Jesus that will happen to them just what he has set for their salvation.
vv. 16-18: You will be betrayed even by parents, siblings, relatives and friends, and kill some of you will be hated by all because of my name. But not a hair of your head will perish. Luke is still using a particular language and look at the division in families as eschatological tribulation, listed in descending order of the emotional ties.
Following Christ is not an easy task for anyone. It involves a radical way to overcome some of the relations of blood, those who believed more emotionally secure. Following Christ is a testimony full and courageous is to risk being alone, like Jesus in his passion, but rather a painful reliving those moments with him the pain here is read with the word hate. But Jesus reassures: "Not a hair of your head will perish." Taking Lk 12.7 points assurance of divine protection in times of trial. What do these words? Jesus does not say anything but, although the true suffering of the real difficulties because of persecution, we should feel entirely in the hands of God who is our Father, knows all about us and never abandons us. Indeed, "Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad "(Matt. 5:12).
v. 19: By your endurance you will save your life . How to wait for that day? With a daily spirituality that Luke describes this way: stand firm in the "perseverance", a term that evokes all the necessary force along the path of suffering for which you must pass, but that all can feel the hope in Him you count the hair on his head. "Perseverance" is the key word for salvation, is the condition to which we aspire. This word translated from the greek is rich in content: include patience, endurance, strength, confidence.
Perseverance (see also Acts 11.23, 13.43, 14.22) is necessary and indispensable when we suffer, when one is tempted when he is brought to despair, when one is lured by the attractions of the world when it was persecuted: it is essential to bear fruit (8:15). It is a continuous "abiding" in Christ spoken of as the Evangelist John.
"In your patience possess your souls, "and it's like saying" you will gain your lives. " The life you save in the hallway but not tenacious, humble, daily work that takes care of the earth and of his injuries. Without giving in to discouragement or no to the seductions of false prophets. And this is important, because in the gospel of Jesus seems to recognize the perseverance that we have lived, not a salvation package her as a gift, but a salvation of which he makes us part, actors.

The Gospel in the mind of the Church Fathers
who does not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is an antichrist. Who does not confess the testimony of the cross is on the side of the devil. About the torch Lord's words to his cravings and says that there is no resurrection or opinion is the firstborn of Satan. Abandoning the vanity of many false doctrines and return to the word handed down from the beginning. We are sober for your prayers and persevere in fasting. With our prayers we ask God who sees all non-lead us into temptation, because the Lord said: The spirit is willing and the flesh is weak (Matt. 26.41). Continuously persevere in hope and in the pledge of our righteousness, Christ Jesus, who bore our sins in his body upon the cross. He who committed no sin nor was deceit in his mouth you (1 Pet 2.22) endured everything for us, because we lived in him. Therefore imitate his patience and if we suffer for his name glorify him. This is the model that has given us in him, and in this we have believed (Polycarp to the Philippians 7-8).

And if we are in tribulation, give us patience to endure. It 's you that I expect! Let me not be overwhelmed by weakness, do not succumb to temptation, is not plagued by storms which are the test of patience. May I pass the test and hope to have strengthened and invigorated, which does not disappoint. The same patient fails the test if you lack faith, whose root is hope. As you can expect it to pass the test, if you do not know the name of Christ deal with any opposition and danger? For this hope is the only one that does not disappoint our hearts. Where there is hope beyond the battles and fears within (2 Cor 7.5) can not hurt us (Ambrose, on Psalm 118 27).

Some questions for personal reflection and comparison
In times of trial I would hope fixing the fulfillment of the Kingdom?
What feelings prevail in me, anxiety, fear, security, trust, hope, doubt ...?
I read the story of my life as a reviving my faith in God my Savior? Or are they among those who think the "2012"?
I believe / in my daily life is not never wasted if I live in joy as a service to Him and to others?
We Christians, Western peoples, peoples welfare, we are committed to do justice, we are willing to judge us with justice?

Praying
the face of God who "comes to rule the earth" was the invitation to rejoice because the Lord will judge the world with justice and the peoples with equity. " A boundless praise for the final assessment will show the boundless mercy of God and creation itself will highlight the project which was conceived in love. (Let us pray with Psalm 97).

address the Lord, the people of the whole earth,

With trumpets and sound of the horn sing joyfully to the King, the Lord.

Read
27Gli approached some Sadducees - who say there is no resurrection - And put this question: 28 "Teacher, Moses has commanded us: If he dies the brother of someone who has a wife, but has no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed unto his brother ¬ between. 29C'erano then seven brothers: the first, after taking his wife, died childless. 30Allora the second took her 31st then the third, and so all seven died childless. 32da last the woman died. 33THE REPLY woman then, the resurrection, whose wife will she be? For all seven had her as wife. " 34Gesù answered, "The children of this age marry and are given in marriage; 35th those who are considered worthy of future life and resurrection from the dead, do not take neither wife nor husband 36infatti can not die anymore, because they are like angels, and since they are children of the resurrection are God's children 37Che the dead are raised, even Moses showed him about the bush when he says: The Lord is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. 38Dio is not dead, but of the living: for all live to him. A moment of silent reflection so that the Word can enter into us and enlighten our lives.

Understanding
We're nearing the end of the liturgical year and the feast of Christ the King. The Gospels have as the theme of resurrection and the end of time. Chap. Luke brings together 20 of the conflicts that Jesus meets in Jerusalem. 4.13 In Satan abandons Jesus to time; came this time, the decisive moment when Satan (ie, the opponents) try to eliminate today's passage Jesus shows the conflict with the Sadducees, who did not believe in the resurrection , ask Jesus to ridicule this truth of faith. They do so through a "case" school to see what Jesus would have responded
In Israel, the belief in the resurrection can be formulated explicitly rather than later. Do not be assumed philosophical immortality of the soul, but from the promise of God's power and His love endures forever and can not fail even before death, and must win to keep us resurrect his loyalty us. This revelation, which was founded in the Pentateuch, is developed through the prophets, the Christian faith has its beginning in the resurrection of Jesus

Meditation
v. 27: The Sadducees came some ... It seems that both the first and last When it comes to the Sadducees in the Gospel of Luke and that of Mark (Mk 12,18-27), but in fact they are already there first, as the chief priests and scribes. The Sadducees are a Jewish group whose name comes from Zadok, a priest of the temple of Solomon, whose descendants were recognized as the only legitimate priests (cf. Ez 44.15). It focused its actions in the temple and in politics, the Sadducees enjoyed little esteem by the people (unlike the Pharisees). Were conservative in theology: they did not accept the oral tradition and submitted themselves to the authority of the Pentateuch literally. Since the books of Moses do not speak of resurrection, the Sadducees protest. Disappeared from Israel's history when the Temple was destroyed (70 AD).
The Sadducees came to Jesus in the framework of their agenda is controversial. The question of a resurrection was valid. It will be necessary to wait until the second century. BC (with the facts narrated in the books of the Maccabees), because faith is born in a personal resurrection.
Jesus shared with the Pharisees and the people of the existence of the resurrection of the dead. For this reason the Sadducees mocked him, trying to prove, by citing the Scriptures, that belief in the resurrection is meaningless. That is why in verse 28 shows that the law of levirate (marriage between in-laws, cf. Dt 25.5 to 10).
vv. 28-29: Master Moses has commanded us: If he dies the brother of someone who has a wife, but has no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed unto his brother. The phrase "Moses wrote for us" shows that the Sadducees considered Moses the mediator between God and the people, and they know the current validity of this requirement. The Sadducees
remind the institution of the levirate, expected to be 25.5 to 10 Dt. It was a common practice with other people of the East (the Assyrians, Hittites) and was then joined also the law of Israel. We find it applied in Gen Rt 38.8 and 3.9, 4.12.
The basis of this law we see a strong desire to survive in their children and give continuity to the family and lineage. Note the importance and validity of a recognized legal genealogy: the child born is legally considered to be the son of the late, not his earthly father. The Sadducees expose a case here. A story told in a popular style. In the end, human anxiety anxiety becomes divine when Jesus says, and will be children of God, because they are children of the resurrection. In God and man the same urgent need to give life to children to love.
v. 33: The woman, therefore, the resurrection, whose wife will she be? For all seven had her as wife. In the logic of the Sadducees enough to take seriously the law of the levirate to conclude that the resurrection is impossible and absurd: there is no resurrection of the dead. Such a conclusion assumes, however, a rather material afterlife: resurrection would be a return to earthly life, in particular, the joys, fecundity and fertility, with a simple quantitative increase. Thus there will be a return to married life. Review was very common in Judaism, and is also the weakness of the argument of the Sadducees.
Faith in the Resurrection is not the result of my need to exist after death, but said the need for God to give life to guard lives in the shadow of his wings.
vv. 34-35: Jesus said, them: The children of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy of future life and the resurrection from the dead, they neither marry nor be married. With this answer, Jesus gives a lesson to the complaint, the material vision of the future life. He uses a distinction very Jewish (this world here - that world there) to put in two contrasting conditions of life in this world, marriage is necessary for the survival of mankind, because man is mortal. In the world of the future instead of this reality will not help anymore because the man has reached immortality, but not useless love. Why Human love is the fullness and the fullness of God will be like angels.
Jesus then says that the condition of existence in the future life is radically different from today: it will be an eternal life with God I raised, therefore, no longer in need of sexual activity with a view to procreation. A thought so high of resurrection life is original, conceived by the Judaism of the difficulties in overcoming a sexual life, rather they tend to sublimate fertility. Those who are judged worthy: we are talking about the fate of the righteous.
What meaning to give to the words "be part of this world and the resurrection of the dead"? The other world and the resurrection may be regarded as two sides of the same reality, or they can say to a life with God after death and then resurrection of all the end of time.
v. 36: it can no longer die, because they are like angels, and since they are children of the resurrection are God's children With this verse the Evangelist links the end of sexual activity with the idea of immortality in the afterlife and the assertion of equality with the angels. Immortality (and not for example do not have the body) is therefore the characteristic of being like the angels: hence the transience of marriage. Judaism does not ignore the comparison between the elect and the angels, it is surprising that Jesus uses it against the Sadducees did not believe that even the existence of angels.
"It can not die." With these words, Luke points out that the saved are not only similar to the angels, but they are truly children of God, brought into the divine life through the resurrection. By participating in the resurrection of Christ men enter into communion with the divine sonship of Christ himself.
In Christian tradition, this text has sometimes led to a certain devaluation of marriage and sexuality, it tended to identify with the life of the resurrection was an "angel." But being like the angels does not mean that human nature is transformed into the angel. He is Risen "dehumanized."
This will demonstrate that the verse is the overcoming of sexual intercourse in the eschatological future, since man is immortal. The argument is at the service of the assertion of the resurrection as something radically new and not as a revival of improved mortality.
Masculinity and femininity do not end in marriage and then in purely procreative, but there are a view of the communion of people: it actually already possible on earth, achieve complete fulfillment and dynamism in the life of resurrection.
vv. 37-38: That the dead are raised, even Moses showed him about the bush when he says: The Lord is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. In Exodus we find that the Lord revealed himself to Moses with these words: "I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob" (Exodus 3:6). This title is convinced that the patriarchs are still alive beyond death. It would be blasphemous to think that YHWH, the living and eternal source of all life, is "the God of the dead," because, Luke adds, "all live to him," where "for" meant instrumental force in the life that he gives them.
The Lord then goes on to reveal the divine name to Moses: "I AM". The Hebrew word ehjeh, from the root Yod-Hei-Hei, used for the divine name in Exodus 3.14, it means I am the one who is, I am existing. The root can also mean life, existence. This is why Jesus can conclude: God is not dead, but of the living: for all live to him.
Reflecting on the death of Jesus, in Romans, Paul writes: "As for his death, he died to sin once for all, but now the fact that he lives, he lives to God so also must consider yourselves dead to sin alive to God in Christ Jesus "(Rom 6:10).
We can say that the Sadducees that Jesus shows God's faithfulness for his people, both for the individual, not based not on whether or not a political kingdom (in the case of God's faithfulness to the people), and or even about having less offspring and prosperity in this life. The hope of the true believer does not lie in these things in the world, but the living God. For this reason the disciples of Jesus are called to live as children of the resurrection, that is, children of life in God as their Lord and Master, "having been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the word of God alive and everlasting "(1 Pet 1.23).
The resurrection of the dead is closely linked to the fact that God is the God of the dead but of the living. God is alive then life and the resurrection of the dead is not essentially a return to life, but it is a life in God's resurrection of the dead is not the resuscitation of a body that is gone, but it's the life in him

The Gospel in the mind of the Church Fathers
rise so the meat. identical, complete and intact. Wherever it is, God is filed with the faithful Mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ, that God will make man and man to God, spirit to flesh and flesh to the spirit, both of them he has already joined the his person ... What you consider a murder is just a start. Not only the soul departs, but also meat, meanwhile retires: water, fire, into the abyss, at the fair. When it seems to dissolve, is almost in transfused blood vessels. Then even if the vessels are less, because they dissolve and are reabsorbed in tortuosity of the earth their mother, from this new format will be Adam, who hear the words from God: Behold, Adam has become like one of us (Gen 3.22) . Then it will be very conscious of the evil that has escaped and the good that has flowed. Why, soul, you feel hatred for meat? Nobody is even close to having more love, after God; nobody is his brother, because it comes with you in God (Tertullian, Resurrection 63).

Like these things said, at least admit our testimony, most of them believers in God, that we expect to cover our bodies, even if left lifeless to the ground, since nothing is impossible with God come to think, what could seem more credible - if we did not possess a body - of being told that a small drop of human sperm may arise bones and sinews and flesh formed the image that we see? If, as a hypothesis, you did not exist as facts and thus generated, and a categorically assure you, showing on one hand the human semen and the other a painted image, that this be produced from that, if you did not see action in the thing, you believe it? No, no one would dare argue with this! It is for the same reason that, not having seen it yet, do not believe in the resurrection of the dead. Except that, as initially you would not have thought it possible that a small drop originated such creatures - and yet you see them produced - so you have to admit that human bodies can not not go into dissolution and scompostisi like a seed on earth, in due course for order of God, rise again and to dress the incorruptibility (1 Cor 15.53).
What power of God is able to conceive of those who say the return of beings to the state from which it arose and the simultaneous inability of God to transcend this law, it is difficult it can be determined, one thing should be noted, that he believed would never be able to generate the beings - and what elements! - Similar to himself and to the world as he sees it. Therefore better to believe in things which are impossible with men and nature, rather than not to believe the same of others, remembering the teaching of our Master Jesus Christ: "What is impossible with men is possible with God" (Mt 19:26 Mk 10 27, Lk 18,27). He also said: "Do not fear those who kill the body and then can not help but rather fear him who after killing the body has the power to throw, soul and body in hell "(Luke 12.45 2 Cor 5:4). Gehenna is the place where it will punish those who live in iniquity and does not believe the realization of what God has taught through Christ (Justin , I Apol . 18-19).

If the resurrection of the dead for you there, why condemn the violators of tombs? If the body is dissolved and the resurrection is hopeless, because those who violate the tomb incurs a pain? see that even if you deny with their lips, stays with you the full consciousness of the resurrection. A falling tree killed no man flourishes flourishes? What has been sown and harvested remains cut off from the yard man this world does not stay in the yard? The branches of the vine and the branches of the trees completely cut, transplant recipients receive life and bear fruit, man, then, for which the plants are once buried will not rise again? By comparison of hard work, whichever is greater, to mold a statue which at first was not there, or redo it again with the same shape as one that was broken? God made us from nothing, can not again to resurrect those who lived and died?
But you do not believe what is written about the resurrection because you are greek. Contemplate the nature of this and reflect on the things that we see so far. It is sown wheat, if you like, or any kind of seeds. As soon as it falls as if he died, is decaying and it is useless to food. But that putrid green rises and falls rises beautifully small. Wheat is done for us. To use our wheat and seeds are made, not for themselves. Those things that we were created, death live again, and we, the reason for which they live, dead rise not? It is winter time, you see. The trees are like dead. Where now the leaves of the fig tree? Where clusters of the vine? In the winter they are dead and green in spring and when the time comes, then, as from death, revives the life force. God looks at your infidelity phenomenal work in these things every year because the resurrection, seeing what nell'inanimato, I think also the soul. (Cyril of Jerusalem, Catech ., 18, 5-7). How

is similar to the one who is dead asleep, dead asleep, the resurrection morning! One day the truth will shine in us as light in our eyes, we will look at death as a picture of sleep that arouses concern. Crowds who sees the sleep ends up in the morning, and believes that death is a sleep that will last forever! If
hope revives our eyes, we will see what is hidden: the sleep of death will end one morning. Fade away the wonderful scent of the treasure of life in the body, the abode of the soul, from which he came. Beautiful will be the body, beloved temple of the Spirit, renewed shall be turned into the house of blessed peace. Then the trumpet will sound on deaf harps: "Wake up, sing glory before the Bridegroom! "You will hear an echo of voices when you open the graves, all take the harp to play the song of praise.
Thanks be to God who has exalted Adam, even though he has humiliated the proud in the abyss! Praise him when he humbles himself, praise him when he raises. The harp sounds to God on the day of resurrection! (Ephraim, Carmen Nisibis., 70).

Praying
We were created for greater things. We are not were created only through this life without a purpose. And what greater purpose is to love and being loved. For this we make our own the words of a theologian and raise to the Lord to help us to give meaning to our lives:

Lord, I accept this existence,
and accept it in hope.
Hope everyone understands and supports
,
a hope that I never know if the
really possess.
A hope that comes to my
deep
a total
hope that I can not replace
with untold anguish and possessions. I hope this
absolute
me know and I will have it: it must respond

as the biggest task of my life.
I know, Lord,
that it is not utopia, but
comes to you,
comes from you, and all-embracing and all-encompassing as

promise that humanity will

the fullness of life and each one can
not really ashamed of being a man. (Karl Rahner)

Let the power of the Holy Spirit comes into our lives. Let us love to love, not only in this life but also in the other and repeat to our hearts "God is the God of the dead, but of the living."
